2nd April 2020 – Thursday
Home schooling today was a bit of a struggle. Skye in particular was having a bad morning and was in a mood. I gave her some maths to do today but she was so stroppy that I just lost it. I really can’t deal with stroppy children and my kids aren’t normally like this. I’m feeling the strain more than anyone so I told her off and sent her to room. Coincidentally, her teacher Miss Brooks called. It was like she knew … like she had a fifth sense. I explained to Miss Brooks about the situation and that we were all feeling stressed and that home schooling was really hard on all of us. She was understanding and sympathetic and she had a little talk with Skye.
We are all feeling the stress.
By afternoon she had settled down and seemed like her old self again. I decided to abandon the home schooling for the rest of the day. I just believe that it was not good to force her to study when she was feeling low mood. I let her have her free time so she did one of her favourite things: painting and arts and crafts.

I let the kids have a lazy day and after dinner we had a movie night complete with popcorn and prawn crackers. I introduced Devon to Lord of the Rings … one of my favourite films. Three hours long though, I was drifting off … it’s been a long tiring day.
I hope you are all safe and well as always.
